Kyoto University

On 25th to 29th December 2009, I have oppurtunity to visit Kyoto University once again. This time still under Japanese Soceity for Promotion Science (JSPS) programme. About 40 Malaysian reseachers involved with this visit. Something that very interesting is Japanese researchers in Kyoto university are very commited with their recognised research groups lead by the university's professors; something that I think we need to follow to be a very succesful research university.

Thank you so much to Dr. Hans Grimm (Germany) and Mr John de Souza who invited me to Pouch Germany for the meeting. I met so many researchers around the world and had oppurtunity to learn about aerosols technology from Grimm Aerosols. Thanks as well to Dr. Markus Petch, Dr. Guo (China), Joe Foti (Australia), Nizamudin (Saudi Arabia), Sunil Kumar (India), Mr Nouri (Iran) which make this trip very so wonderfull. Even though it was a very tough Ramadhan for me and Nizamudin, I think the knowledge from Grimm meeting is very hard for me to get from anywhere else.

Haze is back

Haze in Malaysia

I t seem haze has started again Malaysia. Naddi Hotspot website has shown increaing no of hot spot in Sumatera and Kalimantan. Haze is due to fine particles in the atmosphere let to reduce in visibility. One of my student Adlin Anwar study the number of hot spots and its effect to air quality in Riau, Indonesia.
